With a full house, another informative meeting of Better Breathers was on its way. It was a record crowd and this month, a lot would be covered. Everyone was ready.

Patsy began the meeting demonstrating the new Pulmicort Turbuhaler®. Here she uses a device that squeaks when breathing in to instruct patients on the proper method of inhaling the medication. Next up was Rusty Jarboe of American Home Patient with the new HELiOS Oxygen System. This is a new portable liquid oxygen system allows great portability and mobility anywhere. Rusty also showed a couple of pulse dose systems. Each of these has the capability of providing two liters of oxygen lasting between two and two and a half hours. The pulse dose gives a puff of oxygen each time a breath is taken.

Our other special guest of the evening was Virgil Bailey. Virgil is probably the first person in Kentucky to use the HELiOS Oxygen System. He gave us Better Breathers a great opportunity to learn how this system works from the user's point of view.
